My trip to mt hutt with my school

On Friday my school and I went to Mt Hutt to go skiing but I went snowboarding. I had lots of fun with my friends up on the mountain. I wanted to go up the summit six which is the big chair lift but my friends just wanted to go up the quad which is the small chair lift. When we had our lessons I got to have a one on one lesson because I was the only snowboarder. The instructor I had when I wasn't with the school was the instructor that I had when I was with the school so that was a surprise. after my lesson I went up the summit six with my teachers and it was quite foggy. Then after all of the fun we had we came back from the mountain and went home.

Going to mt hutt with my class

On friday my class and I are going to mt hutt to go skiing but i'm am going snowboarding because I like snowboarding more than skiing. I am really exited and I cant wait to go there. Hopefully there are some good skiers there so that I can go to the top of the mountain with them. I am scared of going in the bus though because to years ago something went wrong with the bus.  So hopefully I get to go in a car or something like that.

Toolkit

This week we went to Toolkit at hornby primary and there were other schools that came as well. We had three section's and one of  the section's that we did was ours and we had to present our presentation about Canva,Be funky and piktochart. The other to section's we did sound trap and scratch. I liked sound trap because we got to make our own music and I learnt a bit more about it. We also did Scratch which is a website where you do coding, that was real fun. We got to learn how to make a game then we got to play the game so that was the best part of my day. After all of that we went back to school to have a normal day.

Cycle safe

This monday and tuesday the year 5/6 had cycle safe. On monday we had to do practise in the school and we learnt lots of new things. On tuesday we got to out on the roads and it was lots of fun.

My speech

For my speech this term I am doing it about why snowboarding is better skiing, this is my opinion.

 

Hi My name is Saxon and I’m going to tell you why I think snowboarding is better than skiing. I like snowboarding because you can do way more tricks and you have less to worry about. With skiing you’ve got two poles and two skis. but with snowboarding you've got one board and that is not much at all.

I think you could hurt yourself more on skis Because there apart. And you could twist your legs and that would really hurt. With snowboards it's easier to do jumps And I think everyone would like doing jumps. I think skiing is more complicated because you've got so much things to do like pizza and I don't even know what that is.So that is why I don't ski.

I think the boots in snowboarding are more comfortable than ski boots because You get to Have leather Boots and it's way more comfortable than plastic ski boots. I like snowboarding better than skiing because you don't have to hold poles when you're going down the mountain and that is annoying.

People say that it's easy to ski but I think it's easier to snowboard. And it's way easier to do jumps on a snowboard then ski's. You can get way more airborne as well. People think that you can go faster on skis than snowboards but I think you can go faster and snowboards. You can even control your speed but you have to be experienced. But it is real easy to turn and use your brakes.

I don't like skiing because When you're going down the mountain the skis can fall off your feet sometimes. It would be annoying having to going back up the mountain to get them. Same thing with ski poles, if you dropped them would have to go back up to get them.

So that is why I think snowboarding is better than skiing, hopefully you change from what you've heard. Thank you for listening to this speech.

Book Awards Day

On Monday we went to book awards day at st Margret's high school. We had to listen to the six authors and they told us about there books. I liked the author called Des Hunt because his book sounds really cool and he made me want to read it. Some of it was about eels and facts about them. He also was playing with balloons which was funny. I learnt that eels never stop growing. Here are some photos to show you what we did.

Snowborading

On Thursday I was lucky enough to go mt Hutt to go snowboarding. It was really fun because I got to miss out on school. I went up the chair lifts which are the high chair lifts I also went up the highest chair lift called the summit six and it was so high up. It took about 15 minutes to get down and I was so tired. The other chair lift i went up to was the quad and I liked that one more because it hurt less on my legs. I did some really sharp turns, so sharp that I nearly fell over. I also did some jumps and wheelies which was fun. I sometimes got really fast and fell over. I went down the intermediate slopes and they were really steep. I was a great day but i'm saw.
